BE A VOLUNTEER & HELP US FEED THOSE IN NEED! From now until September, 2008, we need people to do many different things from helping with fundraisers to putting up posters. Below are more details of things we need your help with. Sag Support Drivers .....Drivers are needed to drive bike routes looking for riders needing help or directions. Drivers must carry insurance, be licensed and provide their own truck or vehicle with a bike rack. Map skills, cell phone and friendliness are a must. If needed, drivers will assist at rest stops with setup/teardown and replenish supplies. Mileage is tax-deductible. Registration.....Volunteers are needed to work as a team to register all participants for the day. It is helpful if registration staff members have good clerical skills. Food preparation is also needed which consists of cutting of fruits, filling water jugs, setting up tables (buffet style), etc. Clean Up..... Helping to clean the shelter and grounds of the event area. Posters..... Posting the posters throughout May, June and July. Bike Mechanics..... At the Game Farm Park, drive or possibly ride the routes. Pit Stop Assistants..... Volunteers will work with at least one other person at the rest stop. They will pass out needed provisions of food and water throughout the ride and walk. 5K Walk..... to walk the 5K Walk to provide assistance and assure that everyone is okay. Set-Up Crew.....We need lots of help setting up during the morning of the ECLBR. You will assist to set up our banners, canopies, tables, etc to make ECLBR look like the fantastic event it is. Tear Down Crew.....We need lots of help tearing down after the ECLBR. Please volunteer to help us wrap up the day. Adult Traffic Monitors..... will be posted at critical traffic areas to stop cars and help bikers and walkers cross streets safely. Other Volunteers .....are needed to assemble bags for ECLBR participants and assist registration staff in distributing bags during the event.
